Every seasonal event, we are changing our interactive English nook. This time, I have placed some tongue twisters related to graduation and spring. Tongue twisters are good practice to improve one’s pronunciation. Most tongue twisters I placed in our English nook have alliteration. It’s a figure of speech in English which repeats the initial consonant sounds of words in sentences that creates a rhythm. One of the most famous examples is “Peter Pipper”.
Challenge time:
Can you say this graduation tongue twister five times or more?
“Great graduates gladly grab green graduation gowns.”
How about these springtime tongue twisters?
“Blue blossoms bloom”
“Green grass grow”
“Pink piglets play”
In addition to reciting some tongue twisters, kids also learn vocabulary related to seasonal events. Sometimes, we do three hint games or word trains (shiritori). It makes kids become familiar with English terms and it also improves their spelling.
