This month, I started working for Keep Carriere Co., Ltd. under Yume Kirara School. It’s an All-English Afterschool that helps working parents by supervising their children with English interaction from bilingual Japanese teachers and a native teacher.
I’ve been an English teacher for about a decade of which six years has been spent teaching Japanese students. I personally like my new work because I spend more time with the kids and I have generous and helpful co-teachers. Unlike the previous schools I worked for that only had limited time with the kids, here at Yume Kirara School, I get the chance to know more about Japanese kids’ behavior and interaction with their peers. It’s a valuable experience for me because I plan to stay here for a long time. I also interact with other teachers in planning my lessons and our school events.
Time flies so smoothly that I didn’t even notice that it’s been a month since I started working in a new environment. I really feel at home at work because my co-workers are all approachable and they treat me nicely. It also seems as though this is the children’s second home where their holistic developments and English skills are honed.
