Children at Yumekirara is writing a letter to their grandparents as part of our weekly craft activity. This is in celebration of the Respect for the Aged Day that will fall on Monday, September 16th. They can be creative by drawing a picture and decorating their letters. It’s a way to show their gratitude for the love they receive from the elders of their family. Kids recall the happy moments they shared with their grandparents. They are all thankful for receiving various presents on special days and for achieving something.
It’s always a gift to be born in this world. Likewise, it’s a blessing to reach old age! When your hair starts to gray and turn to silver white, when you smile and your face wrinkle and then it never comes off, when you start to bend down and it’s painful to straighten your back, when chewing requires more effort, always put into mind that it’s a present to continue living.
For most of us, it’s scary to experience symptoms of old age. But, when you’re healthy, age is nothing but a number. The experiences we have shape our whole being. People will remember us not for how we look but for how we have touched their lives. Let’s age gracefully!
