Tomorrow, we’ll be celebrating Father’s Day!
Kids at Yume Kirara helped me decorate our school.
Some students made special “Father’s Day” cup for their dads.
I hope their dad were happy to receive this craft that their children made for them.
Years back, I made a special poem for my grandfather.
I’d like to share it with you today.
It goes like this…
When I cry in times of great fear
You always find time wiping every tear
When I have a bad dream at night
You give me a warm hug so tight
When i’s dark and everything seems not alright
You give us light and make the night appear so bright
When my head aches and I’m in great pain
You give a good massage until the headache is gone
Now, it’s time to thank you
For making my life colorful in every hue
I thank you for cracking each corny joke
Which makes me laugh so hard until I choke
I thank you for flattering me, you’re so nice
Although at times I feel some of them were lies
I thank you for believing in my strengths
I can’t measure how lucky I am in lengths
I thank our Almighty from above
For sending you who’ve shown us unconditional love
You’re the best Granddad
That we ever had!
“Happy Father’s Day!”
Is all I wanted to say.
I read this poem to my grandfather. He was so delighted that he almost cried upon hearing it from me. I’m glad that I made this poem some time ago.
Have you ever made a poem for someone you love? It might be a good idea to read it to him/her and see how he/she will react.
